Did you know that you can print to multiple kitchen printers by holding down the “Kitchen” button in the top right corner?

Sometimes, you want to print two receipts: one for the customer and the other for the kitchen staff, or maybe you have multiple food prep areas. Wouldn’t it be convenient if you could print to multiple printers at the same time rather than having to wait for one receipt to print before printing the other? OrderPort is all about efficiency and listening to our clients. We heard your concerns and have now made this action possible on our POS software.

In this example, we have two printers, but you can print to more than two if necessary.

Hold your finger down on the Kitchen button in the top right corner. When this pop up appears, you are able to either print to one kitchen printer or all kitchen printers that you have at the same time.

After you select “Print to all”, the Kitchen button will remain darkened until the receipts are printed.

Did you know that you can sign a customer up for a newsletter without making a transaction?

Here’s the scenario: a customer walks into your winery, has a great time, enjoys some free wine tastings, and now wishes to receive updates about your winery. But wait- they didn’t purchase anything so how do you add them to the mailing list?

To do this, touch account, enter the customer’s first name and last name, and email address, and make sure that mailing list is turned green.

No transaction needed.

Changing a Shipping order to a Pickup order in POS

If you need to change a shipping order to a pickup order, you can do this all from the POS. Assume that you have a shipping order complete under a customer named “Ron Rogers”. To change this order from shipping to pickup, search the customer name in the Account tab, and scroll down to locate the shipping order, in this particular example the order number is 18274. Click on “Edit”.

IMG_2176

Once this screen opens up, select a method of payment.

IMG_2177

A screen with Ron’s addresses should show up. Select “Continue” if all looks correct.

IMG_2178

Change the shipping method to “No Shipping Selected.”

IMG_2179

A refund of the shipping costs should be issued to Ron.

Did you know that you can split a ticket at any time during the checkout process?

Say that you have a group of customers, Jack, Josh, and Vincent who come into your winery and decide to buy 3 bottles of wine. Jack wants to split the cost of the wine with Vincent, so you press the bright orange “Split” button on the right side of the screen.

IMG_0725

This brings you to the “Split Tender” page, and here you can choose how many times you want to split the ticket by selecting “Add a Ticket”. In this example, Jack only wants to split once, evenly with Vincent. There are currently two tickets, $83.74 each. Jack wants to pay first, so select “Edit or Pay This Ticket” on Ticket #1.

IMG_0726

This will bring you to “Split Ticket #1” page. Tell Jack how much they will be paying, and then select a payment method.

IMG_0727

A receipt will be printed for Jack. When splitting tickets, each customer/ split ticket will receive their own receipt.

IMG_0728

Now, half of the bill is paid, and $83.74 remains in the order for Vincent to pay. Select “Edit or Pay This Ticket” on Ticket #2 and select a payment method.

IMG_0729

Vincent decides to pay with cash. He checks his wallet and realizes that he only has $50.00 – which is $33.74 short from the total. However, this is not a problem for two reasons: 1) On our software, you can split tickets at any time during the checkout process, and 2) Josh decides to be a good friend and cover the rest of Vincent’s bill (as long as Vincent buys him a cold one later.) Simply type in the amount that Vincent pays and select “Split the Ticket.”

IMG_0732

This will bring you to the “Split Ticket #2” page, but this time the amount will only be $50.00. Again, select Vincent’s payment method.

IMG_0737

Type in the amount tendered, and select Done.

IMG_0733

After a receipt has been printed for Vincent, you will be brought back to the original Split Tender page and now you can pay the final ticket. Once again, select “Edit or Pay This Ticket” and select your payment method.

IMG_0739

Josh has $40.00 cash, so he receives $6.26 in change and a receipt. Finally, all the wine is paid for and Jack, Vincent, and Josh are able to leave with their wine – hopefully not too annoyed with Vincent.

Enabling Tips

To enable tips on the iPad, first you must set it up in Admin. Go to POS Settings>Quick Tip Presets>Set the tip amounts> Save Changes.
Go to the settings tab and make sure the box next to Tips is checked in the particular tasting room that you are using.
Make sure to Reload Catalog in the POS before starting an order. After an order has been paid for, this screen will pop up prompting the customer to give a tip.IMG_0044

Adding a New Employee in the Point of Sale

Log onto the POS, then go to Tools. Click on the tab that says Add/Edit User to begin setting up an account for your new employee. First, enter your pin. If you get a popup message that says “You do not have permission to access this section” this means that on the admin side, you have not been given access to this feature of the POS. To check this, go to the Users module and click view/edit on your account. Then, click on Access to see what you do and do not have permission to edit. new user1

Click the green “New” button in the bottom left hand corner. Now you can fill out the name, email, phone number, user name, and password of your new employee.
